Things I realized today…

– Downtown Boise makes me smile.
– Every time I see a white pontiac mini-van I think of Jacki.
– Brie is not my favorite cheese.
– Sometimes you have to make a choice that may enable your kid to be a bigger brat, simply for your peace of mind.
– Warm, spiced wine makes me sleepy.
– There are family members who plan holidays agreeably and make even the planning fun.
– Then there are some who don’t.
– Having your Christmas shopping done is an amazing feeling.
– Even when that last person’s gift ended up being a great big “settle”. *sigh*
– A new bra is a wonderful gift to self.
– So is an amazing $90 sweater 60% off.
– My Razr sucks. (oh wait… I didn’t just realize this today, but it was worth repeating!)
– I care a lot less about certain things than I did even a month ago.
– This is a good, and mature transition.
– I have an unhealthy desire to now go hooky bobbing.
– I met a friend of a friend today and liked her a lot, quite instantly. This is rare for me.
– My puppy is unworthy of trust.
– Never rely on a child to tell you when the pet food is getting low.
– My car rides so smooth with a full tank.
– Red food coloring is pretty impossible to get off of the counter top.
– my back STILL hurts from the sugar cookie monologues yesterday. Too bad I have to revisit them tomorrow evening.
– It is quite a tough decision as to whether or not put up lights along our rooftop.
– Martha Stewart does inspire me. I am tired of pretending otherwise, it’s true… I am a lemming.
– I love knowing that I have countless Christmas gifts in my trunk. It’s like a secret.
– Good things do happen to those who just believe.
– Just because there is a crack house on one corner doesn’t mean that there can’t be a reputable family on the other.
– I need a massage.
– You guys leave great and supportive comments… Thanks!

Menu Planning and Bullitpoint…

Menu Plan Monday (I am attempting this!!!):

Monday- Wheat Ravioli with Marinara Sauce, Salad
Tuesday- Home Made Chili, cornbread
Wednesday- Chicken Tenders, baked macaroni & Cheese, broccoli
Thursday- cheese and sundried tomato paninis, tomato bisque
Friday- cherry and fig stuffed pork loin, squash chowder, home made bread
And now for the bullitpoint part of today’s agenda:
– Last night we were out on the town celebrating Rabekah’s 20th birthday! Woo Hoo…
– Genny has the most enormous school project due in a week. It is incredibly huge, especially when you consider that this school has minimal expectations of her in all educational areas…
– I love Barnes & Noble. (just felt you should know…)
– Although i had 211 posts on my reader, I did not read all of them… (no way…) What I said was that I read the top post (at least) of every blog I subscribe to.
– Someone tagged me for a Meme. I saw it yesterday… But now I can’t find it. Help?

I believe in fairy tales…

I think there is something about fall which stimulates my visual/audio senses…
(Actually, all of my senses, I guess. The autumn air smells and feel better than that of any other season. )
But I have to take a minute to say it:

– I love fall tv. (The Office tonight!!!)
– And the promise of decent films in the theatre as the Idaho Film Festival gets underway (hurrah!) and Oscar season approaches.
– I hold Ellen DeGenerous completely responsible, but i LOVE the new Kanye West single… And the new Britney single (gasp… I am not a britney lover but man, can a girl move to that song…)
– every kind of music, these days, sounds clearer and more invigorating! (must be a Fall thing)
– Heroes was flat out, fantastic. (despite having to watch it online because my DVR became obstinant)
– I have loved it for over a year, but never grow tired of the song FIREFLIES by Faith Hill. It’s definatly a girl song, if you don’t know it- hear it… Escpecially those of us with little girls. Truly lovely song!

And, lastly, the number one reason I love Fall: CHRISTMAS SHOPPING BEGINS! :)

(Oh yes, and Genny has settled on Wednesday Adams as her Halloween Costume aspiration. Bekah is going with her, as Morticia Adams… These girls…)

Highlights…

… from an otherwise horribly crappy day.

– a long, wonderful phone chat with Jennie.
– Reading poetry with my daughter.

– Clarity.
– A great talk with Denae, the early stages of Wedding planning spoken in Whispers.
