Taggage…

Just when November 5th rolled around and I started to question my bloggable content, I was tagged over at mellow cotton and *whew* what a relief! So, here are the rules… (you should pay attention to them because, really, what if I tag you???)

A) Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog…

B) Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself…

C) Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs…

D) Let each person know that they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1) The very first, “from scratch” recipe that I ever made Chris was fried chicken. We were boarding with a wonderful woman who had MS and she was determined to teach this young bride to cook. She sat in her sweet little chair instructing me on what to mix with what, and how to do it. My husband had boarded with her in high school and raved about what a wonderful cook she was so this seemed like a fantastic idea to me! However, after 4 hours of those little chicken pieces dancing around in oil and them still being as bloody as a newly severed artery, I gave up. I swore I would never cook from scratch again!

2) I adore pink grapefruit juice!!!

3) I now love to cook and have well over 60 wonderful cook books! My favorites are those put out by Chronicle Books and Williams Sonoma.

4) I have semi- secret dreams of being an esthetician because I love giving facials almost as much as I love getting them done.

5) I used to play the piano. Rather than being fluent at everything, I picked and chose challenging pieces that I mastered…

6) The very top thing on my Christmas wish list is a framed photograph of a man holding an umbrella while standing at the top of a hill covered in red poppies. It’s extraordinary!

7) In my own life, I am not much of a crier. That being said, show me a slightly sad/sappy/happy/endearing movie trailer and I ball like a baby. Sit me down in front of an Ellen episode where a sad story, amazing survivor or silly give away happens and I tear up like an absolute buffoon…

I tag:
Missi at Queen Bee Confessions
Dapoppins
Angie at True Floridian
Mimmsical Creations

extra shallow post…

Well, it’s 4 p.m. on Saturday.
I held off posting this morning, as I read through my favorite blogs, because I didn’t feel I had much which was post worthy…
My friday night was spent with friends, eating food, laughing and watching old and new home videos. It was wonderfully homey…
But this morning, as I groggily sat reading what appeared on my laptop screen, I realized that my sink full of still dirty dishes (yuck) and the home made blueberry muffins baking in the oven were hardly content enough for a blog…

I made it through a shower, a rush birthday gift search at Target, (Which resulted in several dresses and a new coat for Genny) I took her to her new “BFF” Anna’s birthday party and then headed to downtown Boise to see Lars and the Real Girl.

And I am glad I waited to blog…
Because I would have come home and blogged about it anyway…
Because, that film is really blog worthy…

Amazing…
Really wonderful movie… Everyone should see this movie.
Go… No Excuses.
Unless it isn’t playing near you, which is pretty likely.

So, my random Saturday shallow high and lowlights are this:

High: Most definatly Lars and the Real Girl

Low: That NBC took all of their SNL clips off of YouTube…

I believe in fairy tales…

I think there is something about fall which stimulates my visual/audio senses…
(Actually, all of my senses, I guess. The autumn air smells and feel better than that of any other season. )
But I have to take a minute to say it:

– I love fall tv. (The Office tonight!!!)
– And the promise of decent films in the theatre as the Idaho Film Festival gets underway (hurrah!) and Oscar season approaches.
– I hold Ellen DeGenerous completely responsible, but i LOVE the new Kanye West single… And the new Britney single (gasp… I am not a britney lover but man, can a girl move to that song…)
– every kind of music, these days, sounds clearer and more invigorating! (must be a Fall thing)
– Heroes was flat out, fantastic. (despite having to watch it online because my DVR became obstinant)
– I have loved it for over a year, but never grow tired of the song FIREFLIES by Faith Hill. It’s definatly a girl song, if you don’t know it- hear it… Escpecially those of us with little girls. Truly lovely song!

And, lastly, the number one reason I love Fall: CHRISTMAS SHOPPING BEGINS! :)

(Oh yes, and Genny has settled on Wednesday Adams as her Halloween Costume aspiration. Bekah is going with her, as Morticia Adams… These girls…)

p.s.

Happy proposaversary, husband!!!

Fourteen years ago today, at a movie theatre (not joking…) my husband asked me to be his wife! Then, after he had the ring, he drew a picture of it and passed it to me in church, as a note with a “check yes or no” :)

Guess we have to do everything by two’s!

and on the subject of great movies…

I forget, as time passes, how much I truly love this movie. Something, though, about The Transformers seemed to put this movie on my mind…

What a lovely way to spend a weekend. An amazing soundtrack (still), The Lost Boys on my t.v. and diet pepsi max.

Shallow, I know, but life may not get much better than this! (Especially after a day in and lounging by the pool…)

Hope your weekends are also filled with wonderful things that you love!
