Strung out…

I know, i know…
I have these big gaps in my posting, and then all of a sudden I string out this one party and it’s photos.
But you guys, right now it’s just really NICE to look at these lovely faces.
My only regret is that, in the last hour of the party, about 7 people came who i wish I’d taken real life photos of… Just to stare at them now and feel a bit more joyful.
More grateful.
Anyway, these are lovely people, from a lovely afternoon.

 {Note: look at my man… he is a kid man, for sure…
We need another little one… that’s all- end note.}

girls can be knights too…

So, we started school Tuesday morning, along with the majority of homeschoolers.
Or, perhaps i could say: On Tuesday I embarked on my journey to hell.
Just kidding.
Mostly…
Really, it’s been pretty bad.
I don’t know if my sweet, thirteen year old is PMSing, or just swallowed a demon in her sleep, but my goodness she has been unnaturally cruel.
The good news is i have been unnaturally patient and loving.
The bad news is that this hasn’t helped, at all.
Today we start pre-algebra.
Now that I think about it, the past two days were probably merely the platform awaiting the train to hell. Today is the day we board…
and to think, i was naively excited to get back to a routine.
But don’t mind me, I am sick. And have been spit on and treated like garbage/called names for two days.
I need sleep.
In other news, I was so excited to finally get to sit down and do a hard edit on my novel while my delightful eighth grader worked on her independent work.
So far, the novel is losing 0-10,000,000,000. It’s not looking good.
Next week maybe.
This week I have to kick this cold’s tuck-us and sleigh the evil dragon of a crazy thirteen year old pre-algebra… (Just kidding… of COURSE I mean the math and not the kid. Geesh.) I did beat her in bowling today. But not in tennis. Because i am the cool mom who not only gets up, while sick, to make her delicious breakfasts- but plays the wii with her and therefore TOTALLY deserves to be called ugly names and treated like garbage.
Just so we all know our place…
Wish me luck, and if possible, please send Armour…

You gotta fight, for your right…

We had a little drop in Picnic Party for Amanda, last week, to celebrate her achievements in her Army training, as a combat medic.
It was so great to have loved ones drop by and pay their love and congratulations to Amanda! It was great fun chatting and drinking fresh squeezed lemonade and super sweet tea… Chocolate chip cookies melted, in the sun, to become a delightfully gooey mess, and many a great conversation was had. We had melting ice cream bars, giant bouncing balls and a photo booth to keep kids entertained…
{This is the part where we ignore any stress, any excessive near-heat strokes or that the gooey chocolate wasn’t really as fun as all that…}

 {For the record, that says EAT not FAT…}

I’ve packed my suitcase…

Pinterest inspires all kinds of crazy projects, for many of us. Sometimes they don’t work out… Sometimes they do…
Sometimes I fall head over heals in love with them…
And sometimes, while spending a few hours getting one just right, my dog decides to stare at herself the entire time, because she is just so pretty.
Also, at those times, my sill iPhone takes a crummy photo.
Even so…

Moving on…
Vintage suitcase craft storage = MAJOR love!

What do you think????
It’s amazing HOW MANY basket’s of supplies fit in this one suitcase.
AWESOME accomplishment, for sure…
