OK, we have 9 days left until I post a discussion about The Art of Racing in the Rain– the summer book club July book.
I haven’t started it yet because I’ve been waiting for my new glasses to get in- no book is worth a migraine… They should be in any day though…
So far I’ve heard a few people say they weren’t sure they could finish it because it’s sad. I have had a few people finish it and say it’s one of the best books they’ve ever read. I’m excited to hear what you guys are thinking…
I have never heard of it, but now I'm scared to read it! Not that it matters, because I read about two books a year and I have a backlog. You can let me know if it's horribly sad and I'll just take it off the list!
It is very sad, but so worth reading to the end! As I told you, it wasn't a book I ever would have picked up on my own, not being a dog person and never having watched a car race in my life. But it was just such a sweet story. I just loved it.
I actually cried more in the beginning of the book than the end. It is one of those rare books that touched a spot in my heart right away and I won't forget it.
I totally missed the discussions about the June book (which I LOVED) and then I never got a chance to read this one (don't even have it!) BUT I have the August book already and will start reading it soon and be ready for the discussions in August!
I haven't heard of this book, but I love books that make me cry. Will have to check this out.
