I’m looking forward to a lot of things about this week. For one, I’m staying diligently busy on a baby shower I’m hosting this Saturday. (Woo hoo) And two, we just joined our local YMCA (after months and months spent deliberating between there and the local rec center.) Gen and I swam our hearts out yesterday and it was simply wonderful…

Here’s to a good week full of productivity and optimism.

Tiny bits of joy…

Amidst the insanity, (a.k.a. August) here at Chez’ Wagner, I was contacted by a happy little company called Tiny Prints.
As I’ve confessed before- I’m a control freak kinda girl- and once we passed that July hump, my brain starts short circuiting at the panic that *Cue slasher film music here* Christmas is merely 147 days away

It was during one such particular fit that their petition, for a product review, was received.
I’m telling you now, it was divine intervention.
Why? you ask.
Well, because anyone who knows me also knows that nothing calms my nerves (broken heart, trivial illnesses, jaded spirit, bad day infected, *insert pretty much anything right here*_____) like paper.
Even spelling it out here, P-A-P-E-R.
Ahhh, such a soothing effect…

HOWEVER, I must also point out that I’m a complete paper snob. (yes, and an ice cream snob, but that is an entirely different post all together! Focus, please!)

I’d never heard of their company, so naturally, I went straight to their website.

First off, let me say- they have incredibly charming stuff! I was in virtual paper heaven! I asked myself, honestly, what I would order from them- and honestly, I probably wouldn’t have… Maybe my readers are less anal than I am, maybe they have different expectations for invitations, photo cards and their Christmas greetings.
As far as I’m concerned, I take my senses of touch and smell very seriously.
If I’m going to send out any sort of greeting to someone I care about, I need to know how it feels in my own hands. I need to know that the money I’m spending isn’t for light weight card stock. I need to know that, when they open their envelope- the incredibly uplifting smell of card stock (yes, I am also a paper nerd) triggers their own senses to evoke feelings of warmth and love. (If you are a book lover who becomes alive the second you walk into a bookstore and inhale, then you know exactly what I’m talking about! If you aren’t, then keep reading. I promise my delusional behavior is coming to an end.)

So, last friday my sample package from Tiny Prints arrived. The sheer joy of the impending paper goodness had me ripping it open like a mad woman. Genny laughed, and NOT in a My Mom is So Cool, sort of way… whatever.
She’ll get it some day. I hope…

And, oh my gosh
I love their stuff! (and this assessment isn’t solely based on their sweet smelling papery goodness.) Though I had pretty much concreted my mind into believing I would be making my own holiday cards, this year, I’m now wavering a bit. In fact, after looking (again) at their designs (and now knowing that their products are printed on high quality card stock) I’m pretty convinced of where our holiday cards are coming from…
Christmas Cards {Can you believe how beautiful these designs are? }
Holiday Cards
Holiday Invitations {Is it a little over the top to begin my Christmas party planning right this second?}

Of course, to convince Chw… hmm.

So, now that we’ve surely shared a truly beautiful connection, (whether due to our shared paper love or maniac-like anal tendencies) go check them out and then come back and let me know what you think! Better yet, if you can guess my three favorites (one from each section), I may even throw in a prize…

And the award goes to…

Thank you, Girlymama for this Arte y Pico award! This award is one of my favorites because it’s focus is to honor creativity!

As stated in the rules, posted below, I am supposed to pass this on to 5 Creative bloggers who contribute to the blogging community. This is always the hardest part, but I’ll try—
(This is the part where I point out that this would have been the perfect time to link Holly (@June Cleaver Nirvana), yet again… But honestly, it’s on the verge of Virtual stalking. We’re already vacationing virtually and well, despite the fact that she is freaking hilarious, inspiring and THE BEST stick figure artist on the planet, I have to exhibit some form of self control…

1.) Burgh Baby’s Mom because honestly, stories don’t get more creatively told than hers! Plus, she’s like the Kevin Bacon of blogging. {And why she started reading me, one day, I’ll never know…}

2.) Dawn because she has been an incredible inspiration to my creative homeschool brain… I love her ideas and how it seems she pulls everything off with such grace a peace!

3.) Melissa… I know I’ve awarded her before, and honestly it could be for this very same award. Even so, this girl deserves it. She IS Creativity… She finds the most inspirational/artsy stuff… I love her…

4.) The girls… These girls make me want to move to the country and buy a gaggle of chickens. They make me want to walk along side cows, in a field, with a hay in my mouth. (no, not a mouth full of hay, just a piece.) These girls are great story crafters and writers on their individual blogs- and are collaborating to make a country/crafty/something special/kinda farm girl blog… I for one, the non-chicken raising, city dweller, hope they keep this side project up!

5.) Inspiring Ideas. I recently stumbled across this blog and have fallen head over heels for her archives… This girl has great ideas, and is practical about them!

The rules are:

You have to pick 5 blogs that you think deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community, no matter what language.

Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given
her or him the award itself.

The award-winner and the one who has given the prize must show the link of the “Arte y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award. http://arteypico.blogspot.com/
